PROJECT OVERVIEW

ARCHITECTURE

Our primary focus on this project was to provide updated finishes and for all the bathrooms, however replacing the finishes also provided the opportunity to make some much-needed updates to the layouts.  Particularly in the primary bathroom, this led to a more organized plan with floor area allocated where it was most needed.  Even if limited in scope, the plan changes resulted in an impactful and well-embraced improvement.

INTERIOR DESIGN

Our design concept brought a touch of city glam to this harborside retreat. Though the client lives in Manhattan, they wanted their New Jersey home to feel equally refined while honoring its serene waterfront setting. Inspired by the primary bathroom’s sweeping views, we grounded the space in warm, neutral dolomite slabs that make up 75% of the palette. Gold accents introduce a subtle layer of sophistication without overpowering the calm foundation. A contrasting marble mosaic on the floor—carried up the wall like an elegant walk-off mat—adds texture and dimension, creating a harmonious balance between coastal calm and metropolitan glam.

PROJECT COORDINATION

While we weren’t able to provide full-time on-site coordination for this New Jersey project, we established a clear system to stay closely involved throughout construction. Through scheduled milestone check-ins, frequent communication, and regular FaceTime walkthroughs with the contractor and vendors, we maintained real-time visibility into the progress. This remote coordination approach allowed us to guide key decisions, address questions quickly, and ensure that every detail of the design was executed to our standards. By staying consistently connected, we created a smooth, collaborative process that supported both the client and contractor from start to finish.
